Flowering Dogwood Crochet Pattern

A close resemblance to the real flower

© Shai Urbano 2021

This is a crochet pattern that I’ve designed to make it look close to the real flower itself.
Gauge is not important in making this flower, you can use a bigger yarn and hook to create a larger flower.

I have a printable PDF version of this pattern that includes a crochet diagram in 300 dpi, a written pattern and a step by step photo tutorial.

You can purchase the PDF version in my Ravelry Store. Get it HERE.

Begin with a magic ring, ch1.
R1: 6sc in ring, sl st to sc. (6sc)
R2: Using the FLO.
Ch3, sl st to next 2 sts, then sl st to next sc. Do this around six times.
R3: Using the BLO. 2sc in each st around. (12sc)

Petals (using white yarn)
Insert yarn on any st, then make a sl st.
R1: Ch5, then ch4 more, 2tr in 5th ch away from hook, 2tr in next st, dc in the next
2 sts, hdc in next st, sl st to the next 3 sts of the base.
*Do this four times around until you have a total of 4 half petals, after making
the 4th petal, sl st to the next 2 sts only of the base.
For round 2, we’ll make the other half of the petals. We will work using the bottom
stitches of the previous round.
R2: Hdc, dc in the next 2 sts, 2tr in next st, 2tr in next st, ch4, sl st to the next ch.
Then sl st to each of the ch of the half petal of the previous round, then sl st in
each stitch until you reach the base, once you reach the base, make a sl st.

*Repeat R2 four times until you have a total of 4 petals. Then fasten off and
weave in the ends.
